I am not sure if this is the right forum to post. Moderators please move it appropriately.
I have only read about America's stupid jokes in the past. Now I am a victim of one such Joke.
I am living in USA as permanent resident for the last seven plus years. Recently I wanted my Mom to visit me so I sponsored for her papers. I signed a sponsorship form assuring them that I would send my Mom back well before her Visa expiry.
My mom has been to the consulate 2 times and both times they rejected her saying, that the interviewing officer is not convinced that my Mom would return back to a country outside USA after her stay gets over.
Isn't this ridiculous. I only get 2 weeks of vacation per year and in the past seven years I used that to visit my parents. For first time I wanted her to come and see USA. Why is it so hard for the American's to refuse a Visa for a 59 year old lady.
They have welcomed me here because AMERICA lacks smart people in the country (thats what Bill Gates says).
What if I become US citizen in the future? will the US government be so insensitive to a citizens needs?
Or what if I decide to leave USA on this issue? Isn't there lack of good people for technical jobs right now?
What if I have property here legally? Will the Americans be such jerks as to allow my Mom entry only when I die?
I honestly do not understand whats going on here? LL's please echo your thoughts and help this poor guy have some peace of mind.
I have always been a tax abiding resident of both countries? Does it take a Senator's letter to convince those idiot officers?
How superficial and violation of human rights?
